Another One On Real Life

I spell my name Lynn(e), or Lynne. The e isn't real. The name is actually Lynn.
So why add an extra letter?
Because when I was 15 my best friend, Kellie Lynne, was killed in a car accident.
Because of this, I am very protective of my e.

I told this to Jenna Blum, author of Those Who Save Us. She told me that that was beautiful, and it's okay to be protective of my e.

I walked out of the panel to meet my sister. "Do you want the bad news first?" She asks as I approach. I stare at her, think of what could be 'bad news' and decide that life is okay today.

"Yea, go," I say ignorantly.

"Lyn passed away last night," she says gently.

It takes me a second before I can absorb what she's said. Lyn, the woman who lost her daughter to the same battle, different cancers, same fight. Lyn, who kept us together after Kellie died. Lyn, hands down the strongest woman I've ever known has passed away.

With that said, I'm back in Michigan, waiting to see if there will be a funeral, or what'll happen. But the world just took a huge loss.

This woman was amazing.

  1. I'm sorry for your loss.
We've had quite a few in the past year or so ourselves, so I can empathise.

Please know that if you comment and I don't respond, it's not because I don't love you. It's because I don't have wifi, but I do have a bad memory.
