Awhile ago, my old friend gave me a blog award...and so I'm finally getting the chance to pass it on. It’s the Booker Award. The rules after accepting this award are as follows:

2. Five favorite books? Well, since 2012 is ending, how about five favorite books that I read in 2012? Does that sound okay?

Totally read the Tribute Guide, too!

• Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. Totally rocked my world. Tally Youngblood is a badass.
• Looking for Alaska by John Green. Well, no one warned me how much I'd cry, but it was beautiful. 
• Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. In case you hadn't heard, I'm a wee bit obsessed. 
• Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. It helped pick me up after reading several overwhelmingly sad books.
• If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman. One of those that made me cry for a long, long time....
• Hate List by Jennifer Brown. Amazing.

In case you were unaware, I love blog awards...like, love them. Not quite as much as Mint Oreos....but I mean, it's up there :) (I also love new followers, comments, and....shiny objects :) )

You ready to  learn more about me than you wanted? Good, I'm ready to share :)

1. What makes you laugh, smile or giggle?
When people fall snowboarding (when it's a safe fall, not a slam). I taught a kid last week, who just kept falling, and falling, and each time, he laughed so loud, I think the entire mountain heard him. It made me happy to know that he was still having fun, and more that he was learning.
My dog also makes me smile a lot, because he's a talker. I feel like I can have endless conversations with him.
Cute things make me smile; like when boys walk me to my car, hold doors for me, when my favorite song plays on the radio.

2. What are your dreams for the future?
I want to get published. I want to be happy. I want Baxter to be immortal. It's not too much to ask, right?

3. If you were going on a cruise where would it be and why?
So...you guys may judge me for this...but I'm kind of against cruises (don't get me wrong, if I won one, I'd still go) but they're terrible for the environment. Like....TERRIBLE. But, if I won one (this way I'm not supporting it), I'd like to go anywhere, like an island, some place I've never seen. (I'm not very hard to please)

4. Who would you spend your vacation with and why?
The vacation listed above? Well, with Baxter, of course :) (Read commitment issues....:) )

5. If given a life, what life would you chose and why? Past or future? 
I would pick past, I think. I mean, I like my life where it's at, so I'd want to be something else; a bird, a dog, a cat. I'd want to know how they live, what they say to each other. But if I were forced to stay human, I'd go back, and take more pictures with Kellie, my best friend who died in a car accident when she was 17.

Yay! Another Blog Award!

Okay...so for those of you who only know me virtually, not only am I an anxious person (see previous blog, float around through other posts...), I'm also really excitable.

Every time I get a new follower, I literally squeal and possibly jump up and down. It usually looks something like this:

God, these are terrifying pictures. I hope I didn't just scare you away...

So imagine when I get a manuscript request, or heck, even a free cookie. It's dangerous to be within a ten mile radius of my flapping arms.

Yesterday, I found that the lovely writer, Laura Barnes, gave me a blog award!!! Which resulted in the usual tackling of Baxter (who was resting peacefully beside me), and a giddy squeal (then I had to explain to my roommate who is like 60, possibly 70 years old what a blog award was).

90% of these blogs are writing related. One I know in person, and I enjoy her blog because it's down to earth. Plus, I know her in real life, so that's fun, too :) Either way, these are the common blogs I try to pop in on at least once-twice a week...I hope you guys enjoy them, too.

But here are some fun facts about me anyway:

~I have the best dog in the world.
~I don't like to say that I own him, we're more like friends.
~I'm really caffeine intolerant, and it usually ends in a panic attack. But, after working at a coffee shop for a few months, I'm now also dependent.
~I'm a fast writer. I think. I'm not sure...people tell me I am. (If you go through my old posts, I have some tips on what I've dubbed speed writing.)
~I like cookies. A lot. Like...I eat a million a day.
~I like cold weather and snow..which works out since I just moved back to Maine.
~I really like Owl City's new album. Mainly because he has a song that says, "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there"
~I hate TV
~I love music
~My car is a stick shift
~In the last month, I've been in two ditches (one ended up having to get towed out, the other pushed out)

Blog Award, And Other Fun Things!

It was awhile ago....It seems actually to be July to be exact...But the lovely J.A. Bennett gave me the Blog On Fire Award, and I haven't properly taken the time to redistribute, nor thank. So, Ms. Bennett, thank you for the award.

I honestly don't know how these things work....but it seems most people have posted the picture of the award or what not...so I guess I'll do that:

And then I hear that you're supposed to answer some random questions? I'm not sure, but it kinda seemed like fun and I don't have anything else to say today....so here I go:

1. Are you a HOT rutabaga? Describe yourself in two words:
Pet friendly? I don't know....I don't really have anything to say here, but I do love pets...

2. When was the last time you ate lion meat?
Umm....In a past life probably. But I'm not so sure sea turtles are into that kind of thing...I know they eat weird crap...but lion meat? Really? Maybe not in a past life....

3. Upload a heartwarming picture that makes you smile.

This was in 2007...my sisters, all of them and I took a trip in Michigan to the other side of the state. It was amazing. I love all of them.


4. What songs would be playing when you go back in time to beat the crap out of someone, and who, may I ask, would be this someone unfortunate enough to be in your time traveling dimensional line?
Probably something by Rise Against, or Silverstein. They're pretty angry. Or something like..really silly. If you've ever seen that part in Dirty Work, the G SEVEEEENNNNN! Dude, you just pushed G8 "If you like pina coloadas, and getting caught in the rain". Yea...I could see that happening to me.


5. Name one habit you want to change in yourself because it makes people plot your demise.
I have a bit of a temper.....(Shh...don't tell anyone)

6. How many goats, stacked atop one another like Yertle's Turtles, would it take to reach the moon?
I'd say fourteen. But I'd prefer that before we tested this theory...we asked the goats for their permission.

8. Where da muffin top at? 
Yea...no. I don't even get this one..

9. Do you have nicknames?
I have a million of them. The one I hear the most frequently is Knee-Cap. Thank you, Elizabeth. 

10. What the fudge were you thinking as you were doing this?
That Hancock is playing in the background, and Will Smith is smokin hot? A little bit of that, and he (Hancock) has some clear anger problems...I like him.
